Productive uses

2 A prepositional phrase beginning with for is often used after an adjective indicating a quality. The noun group following for indicates people who are affected by the quality, as in The way the rules work is different for each person, and This sort of sum is affordable for most people.
3 A prepositional phrase beginning with for is used after adjectives such as good, mature, small, tall, and young to indicate a factor that qualifies your statement, as in I am small for my age, He is young for a political leader, or Preoccupation with appearance was judged as normal for a healthy woman.
