The 'ready' group

These adjectives indicate that someone or something is ready or available for something, or is not ready or available.
Even when you are accepted by the adoption panel, there is still no certainty about when or whether a baby will be available for adoption.

His highly-experienced team is ready for action.
In the case of available, due, open, overdue, ready, and ripe, the preposition for is sometimes followed by an '-ing' clause.
