Productive uses

1 Past participles of verbs such as make and build are used like adjectives and followed by of: The box was made of glass, the first ship built of steel.
2 In literary writing, of is used after adjectives in descriptions. For example, instead of saying that someone has brown skin or a compact frame, a writer might say they are brown of skin or compact of frame.
