The '-controlled' group

These combining forms combine with nouns. The adjectives formed indicate that something is controlled, owned, or financed by a particular group.
Members of ethnic groups from the south of the country have been tortured and killed by the armed forces and government-backed militias.
No UN forces were involved, but a stray shell damaged a roof at the UN-controlled airport.
Several hundred students have staged a political protest on the anniversary of last year's student-led protest movement.
