Combining forms

The '-powered' group

These combining forms combine with nouns. The adjectives formed indicate how something is powered or driven. We include here -consuming and -guzzling, which indicate that something uses a lot of something such as fuel.
More people should use means of transportation other than gas-guzzling cars.
Ford's car was not the first gas-powered vehicle to be built in the United States.
