The adjective group follows it and a link verb, and is followed by a prepositional phrase beginning with about.

Most of these adjectives are used to indicate that something that has happened or is happening is very bad, often in rhetorical questions.
Isn't it awful about Mr Pittman? Who would ever guess that that funny little man was a murderer?
