amount ADJ

The adjective follows a noun group which indicates an amount.
A number of adjectives with this pattern indicate how much something measures. The measurement may be of size, duration, age, or, in the case of proof, alcoholic content.
There was water everywhere - several feet deep.
Each semester is 15 weeks long and ends with a three-week assessment period.
At only 17 per cent proof, the Irish whiskey-based drink is sufficiently gentle to appeal to a wide audience.
