The 'illegal' group

These adjectives indicate that an action is legal or illegal. They are used with verbs such as make, and also with the verbs declare and rule. The Subject of the verb is typically an institution or a law. Illegal is used particularly frequently in this pattern.
The Sex Discrimination Act also made it illegal to discriminate on the basis of sex or marital status in areas such as training, promotion and dismissal.
