The 'vital' group

These adjectives indicate that something is important or necessary, or not. The noun group after for may refer to the result of having that thing, or the person or thing that would benefit from it.
Visitors last Monday were able to see that state-of-the-art facilities are not necessary for success.
Ensuring that all calls are professionally and efficiently answered is vital for small businesses.
With all of these adjectives except unnecessary, the preposition for is sometimes followed by an '-ing' clause.
Oxygen is essential for keeping skin young because it activates cell division and regeneration.
