The 'higher' group

These adjectives are comparative or superlative adjectives indicating that someone or something has more of a quality than something else, or than it had before. The noun group following the preposition by is an amount. This pattern is ADJ by amount.
This morning, the dollar is higher by a cent and a quarter.
