The 'deserving' group

These adjectives indicate that someone or something deserves something, or does not deserve it.
He is deserving of sympathy, though he may regret his ill-judged comment.
In the case of unworthy and worthy, the preposition of is sometimes followed by an '-ing' clause.
This inability to love often is based on low self-esteem and the feeling of being unworthy of being loved.
