The 'force' group

These nouns refer to ways of achieving something.
If you'll not sell it, we are going to take it by force.
He said he was sure the crisis could be solved by negotiation.

  • Note that the more usual way of referring to a way of achieving something is to use by followed by the '-ing' form of a verb, as in by negotiating with the rebel leaders. Most verbs can be used like this.
