Combining forms

The '-dressed' group

All these combining forms except clad can combine with adverbs; -clad, -coated, -garbed, and -robed combine with nouns or colour words. The adjectives formed describe someone's clothes or appearance.
Their neighbours were a pair of genteel and exquisitely dressed elderly ladies.
I wanted something special, a way of looking original in the ocean of black-garbed women.
He is extremely smart, always beautifully turned out; and I've no dress sense at all.
