Pattern 2: the ADJ-COMPAR of pl-n

The comparative adjective follows the and is followed by a prepositional phrase which consists of of and a plural noun group. The group can be used as a Subject or Object, as well as a Complement.

Hugh put his arm around Matt's shoulders. He had been the taller of the two for more than a year.
