The 'occur' group

These verbs indicate that an idea occurs to someone. These verbs are not found in the pattern it V that: they occur only with a prepositional phrase, e.g. to me or to my attention.
Quite recently it came to my attention that I am older than the Prime Minister.
She seemed to be asleep. Then it occurred to him she might be dead.
