The 'reputation' group

These nouns are concerned with someone's or something's reputation. We include here byword: if something is a byword for something, it has a reputation for that thing.
State-owned postal and telecoms services are a byword for inefficiency.
Danish bacon had a reputation for quality and uniformity.
In the case of name and reputation, the preposition for is sometimes followed by an '-ing' clause.
Over the past eight years we have established a name for offering the very best in design-led giftware and interiors.
