The 'action' group

These nouns refer generally to an exciting situation or place, usually one that someone wants to be in. Some of these are plural nouns: see Section 6.
Miami was where the action was in the 90s.
I don't think I should have to defend myself just because I live a dull life away from the bright lights and parties.
But one can't help but think she's trying to get into the limelight again by this endless contrariness.
