The verb is followed by a noun group and a prepositional phrase which consists of to and a noun group. With some verbs, the preposition is sometimes followed by an '-ing' clause.The passive pattern is be V-ed to n.This pattern has three structures:
    Structure I: Verb with Object and prepositional Object
    I lent some money to my father.
    Structure II: Verb with Object and prepositional Object Complement
    He changed his name to Adam.
    Structure III: Verb with Object and Adjunct
    She devoted a whole chapter to the subject.
