How adverbs are used - Easy Learning Grammar Italian

  • You use adverbs:
  • with verbs: He’s never there; She smiled happily.
  • with adjectives: She’s rather ill; I feel a lot happier.
  • with other adverbs: He drives really slowly; I’m very well.
  • Adverbs are also used at the start of a sentence to give an idea of what the speaker is thinking or feeling.
  • Luckily, nobody was hurt.
  • Surprisingly, he made no objection.
