The adjective is followed by a noun. Adjectives in this pattern are sometimes called attributive adjectives.

Most adjectives are sometimes found in the pattern ADJ n. We list below those adjectives among the 500 most frequent adjectives which, in the senses shown, are always or usually found in the pattern ADJ n rather than in the pattern v-link ADJ. In general, ungraded adjectives, or ungraded senses of adjectives, are more usually found in the pattern ADJ n than in the pattern v-link ADJ.
