The 'fond' and 'critical' group

These adjectives indicate that someone has a particular attitude towards someone or something. Some of them, such as critical and dismissive, indicate that the attitude is shown in what the person says.
But Mr Green had become increasingly critical of the Government's plans.
She was awfully nice. I was very fond of her.
We are proud of our achievements.
We have grown less tolerant of inefficiency, injustice, frustrating bureaucracy and poor service.
In the case of ashamed, fond, proud, resentful, and supportive, the preposition of is sometimes followed by an '-ing' clause.
I am not ashamed of making money from boxing.
In the case of envious and jealous, the preposition of is sometimes followed by a noun group and an '-ing' clause. This pattern is ADJ of n -ing.
She was jealous of me being with Tony.
