The 'sorry' group

These adjectives indicate that someone is sad or angry because of the event or situation indicated in the to-infinitive clause. The to-infinitive clause often indicates that someone hears, sees, or finds out something.
She was very angry to find him still with the circus.
I'm sorry to hear he has died.
In the case of sorry, the adjective often introduces something that someone wants to say.
I'm sorry to have to tell you that Janet West is dead.
