Pattern 7: ADJ-COMPAR than prep

The comparative adjective is followed by than and a prepositional phrase.
We look after our creatures so well that, arguably, they're better off than in the wild.
It is known that swimming in open water in the early morning or at night is potentially more dangerous than at other times, probably because sharks are more likely to search for food then.
I believe that the overall commitment to privatisation will create a situation that is less safe than under government ownership.
