Graded and ungraded adjectives

The 'normal' and 'odd' group

These adjectives indicate that someone or something is the same as other people or things or the same as what is expected, or that they are different. We include here common and widespread, which indicate that something is often found, and rare, which indicates that something is not often found.
It usually starts off as a fairly normal dream - the normal kind of dream you have every night.
The rather odd combination of ingredients in this sandwich is quite remarkable.
