Graded and ungraded adjectives
Pattern 4: as ADJ as adj/adv
The adjective follows as and is followed by a prepositional phrase which consists of as and an adjective (usually possible) or adverb (usually always or ever). This pattern is used to indicate that someone or something has a lot of a quality. For example, She was as beautiful as ever indicates that she was very beautiful.
She was now twenty-eight, as beautiful as ever and very much wiser.
The diet is based on 1000 calories a day, with no added salt or artificial sweeteners used, and everything served as fresh as possible.
