Pattern 31: too ADJ for n

The adjective follows too and is followed by a prepositional clause which consists of for and a noun group.
Sometimes the noun group following for indicates a person or thing for whom something is not acceptable, suitable, or easy.
Those trousers are miles too big for her.
The hill was just a little bit too long and too steep for me.
Sometimes the noun group indicates something that cannot happen or that someone cannot take part in.
I'm too old for that sort of thing.
My brother was too young for Saturday morning school.
