The 'bewilderment' group

These nouns refer to feelings that are the cause of an action or reaction.
She stared at him in bewilderment.
Gill seems to have trouble with his guitar and, in a fit of pique, throws it across the stage.
He had clenched his fists in frustration as he had listened to the speeches.
With some of these nouns, especially agitation, confusion, delight, desperation, excitement, frustration, and surprise, the noun group sometimes begins with a possessive determiner.
