The 'nice' group

These adjectives indicate that the situation indicated by the '-ing' clause is judged to be pleasant in some way. This include adjectives with a general meaning, such as amazing, brilliant, and nice, and those with a more specific meaning, such as exciting and funny.
It was brilliant working with him because he's such a great player and he really enjoyed himself.
It was exciting watching her grow in confidence.
It was fine doing the exams early because you knew that if you didn't do as well as you wanted to you could do them again.
It is not nice missing your child's first steps, her first recital or your husband's important business dinner.
It's been wonderful having you here, Paul. I mean that.
